Toronto, ON | July 29, 2025 The Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund (IPRF) is proud to launch the Access to Justice Bundle Program. This program is made possible through a partnership with The Law Foundation of Ontario (the Foundation).


With an investment of $1 million from the Foundation, this program supports Indigenous-led efforts to strengthen access to justice and advance Indigenous rights, laws, and voices. The program was designed following a series of community-led focus groups held from August to November 2024, where IPRF and the Foundation listened to stories and learned about the communities’ access to justice experiences. The learnings from those sessions have shaped a program that centres community knowledge and priorities. 

This Bundle Program provides funding to Indigenous organizations that are working to remove barriers, and to respond to their justice-related needs. It aims to invest in knowledge and services that will help Indigenous people in northern Ontario understand law and use it to improve their lives. 

The Access to Justice Bundle Program represents a shared commitment between IPRF and the Foundation to walk alongside Indigenous communities, listen deeply, and build long-term, trust-based relationships.

The program uses a two-step application process:

  • Letters of Interest (LOI): Open from July 29 to September 19, 2025
  • Full Application Deadline (by invitation only): October 27, 2025

Join the Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund Advisory Council


The Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund (IPRF) walks alongside First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities as they strengthen their own paths of healing, resurgence, and self-determination. Rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing and being, the IPRF uplifts the voices and visions of our Peoples.

We are inviting individuals from diverse Nations, territories, and walks of life to join our Advisory Council. If you are grounded in community and committed to sharing your gifts to support Indigenous-led solutions, we welcome you to walk with us.

About IPRF

Grounded in the values of the communities we serve, IPRF honours the voices of Indigenous peoples. Our mission is to provide accessible funding and support to community-driven priorities. Whether that’s food sovereignty, language and cultural revitalization, youth leadership, or something else, we listen first, then respond in ways that honour our relationships and responsibilities.

Role of the Advisory Council Members

Members of the Advisory Council carry responsibilities that include:

  • Governance: Offer insight and direction that aligns with the teachings, values, and priorities of the communities we serve.

  • Advocacy: Champion the community-led work that IPRF supports within your networks and communities.

  • Commitment: Attend quarterly board meetings and participate in sub-committees as needed. Council members serve a three-year term, with the option of renewing for a second term. The time commitment averages 2-6 hours per month, depending on the time of year.

This is a volunteer position, ideal for those who feel called to give back to the communities we serve in a meaningful way. While most meetings are held remotely, occasional travel may be required for in-person gatherings. When travel is necessary, the IPRF will cover all related expenses.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking relatives who bring experience, knowledge, and heart to the circle. This might include:

  • Leadership in community, culture, language, or advocacy work

  • Lived or professional experience in Indigenous governance or nonprofit spaces

  • Skills in communication, planning, finance, and/or relationship-building

  • A commitment to reciprocity, diversity, and walking with others respectfully
